Back in the saddle...

The main reason that the Racer and I started this blog was to be involved in a weight loss blogging community. In order to link to their weigh ins, we needed a blog. So, we dipped our big toes into the blogging world. If you read our early posts, you can see all the gruesome details of our weight loss journeys. Since then, the site has ceased to exist. And, clearly, so have my weight loss efforts.

Life has happened. You know how it goes, right? Major Hunk comes home from the desert. We eat out lots of yummy goodness that he has been missing. We buy a house. I stop going to the gym. And weight watcher meetings, well they became a thing of the past. And, if you have spent any time here whatsoever, you probably know that I am an emotional eater.

So, over the past 6 months, I have gained 15 pounds.

Out of 36 lost.

UGH!

Now that I have had some time to ponder the changes I need/am willing to make, I'm ready to go public. The Racer and I have talked much this past week about how one of the things we need to address is that we have lost focus. During our "weight loss 2007", we were spending time encouraging one another in the journey. We were exercising together. We were sharing recipes and encouragement we found online. So, I am ready to get back at it, before none of my clothes fit me anymore.

So, I will be checking in here with all of you, my interpeeps, to put some accountability back into my life.

These are my goals for the week:

  • cut soda consumption down to one a day.
  • exercise at least 4 times.
  • take measurements so I can track inches lost as well as pounds.
Alright, there they are my first baby steps back into the world of healthy choices...

So, tell me friends, what things do you do to encourage a healthy lifestyle?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! i knew you could do it! if ever you feel the need to eat something bad- think about all the unhealthy aspects of it--- the high sodium content, 100's of calories, and how the grease it sticking to your intestines and clogging your heart. I was watching a documentary on the history channel about obesity a few months ago and they were talking about how when an obese person eats horrible food, they are eating so much that it is not being fully digested and roting in their intestines and turning to mold. Everytime i think about eating something horrible or having a large meal that is clearly not good for me- i think about all the work i have done to remove that mold and how by eating that food, i am going to be putting it back in there. you should really watch that doc.- i think you can watch it online!! hope this grosses you out and helps at the same time!!! keep it up!

Wow. Mold in my insides?? That is some motivation right there!

Is it mold like blue cheese? Because I love me some crumbly blue cheese salad from Paradise Bakery.

I know, Dirty Job gets his grossness from his mama.

Oh! I so needed this post today. I have gaineda back 15 of the almost 30 I lost after my last baby. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

I need to step up as well. I'm going to start exercising this week, cutting back on my sweet tea/coffee and trying to cut my portions down.

Let's all do it together! :)
